Problem
Sharing FB content could be easier and intuitive when wanting to send to frequently contacted friends. we want to reduce steps users need to take to select contacts and share content on their feed on Messenger.
Audience
Facebook and Messenger users.

01.Current solution. Today, the Messenger-FB social flywheel is under-utilized for fb.com users with a friend graph.

02.New components. Our goal is to bring users’ friends to the forefront of the experience, making it effortless to share content. Once a user chooses to share, we aim to clearly display what they’re sharing, with as little friction as possible.

New components  inculde:

  • Hover share and Hover send bubbles
  • Shared content thumbnail
  • New seperate send modal
  • Updated share modal with Thumbnail

03.Hover send.  When users hover over content, their frequent friends bubble appears, allowing for quick sharing. Alternatively, they can press ‘Send To’ to choose other contacts they wish to share with.

04.Hover share.  Similar to the ‘Send’ flow, share options are surfaced within a share bubble on hover. This lightweight, inline approach keeps the user in context—minimising friction and making sharing feel quick, intuitive, and non-disruptive to their browsing experience.
