Problem
The rewards experience couldn’t scale for new brand partnerships and suffered from low conversion, high drop-off, and user confusion around redemption—demanding a clearer, more scalable redesign
Audience
Revolut users looking to unlock exclusive perks and rewards, and companies wanting to feature their offers on the Revolut app to reach and engage this customer base.
01.Intro The existing interface wasn’t built to scale with the hundreds of new brand partnerships the company aimed to onboard as part of a new revenue stream tied to an upcoming funding round. Alongside scalability, it was critical to improve the user experience. Data showed that the average rewards conversion rate was under 1%, with significant drop-off at the Details page—7% of users didn’t engage with the CTA to visit the brand’s website. Additionally, 72% of support tickets were related to confusion around how to redeem rewards or issues receiving cashback. Our goal was to redesign the experience to improve clarity, reduce friction in the redemption flow, and support the growth of brand partnerships at scale.

02.Process
We started by mapping key user flows and identifying pain points, then moved quickly into low-fidelity wireframes to explore layout, structure, and information hierarchy. Through rapid iterations and usability testing with internal stakeholders and customers, we validated core interactions—especially around browsing, understanding, and redeeming rewards. Once flows were refined, we focused on designing reusable components for cards, filters, reward listings, and redemption modals—ensuring they were scalable, accessible, and consistent with Revolut’s design system.
03.Designs
We designed and delivered the Rewards experience across iOS, Android, and Web, ensuring visual consistency and alignment with platform-specific patterns. While mobile benefited from native interactions—such as swipe gestures, bottom sheets, and smooth transitions—some of these didn’t translate effectively to web. As a result, we simplified certain flows, removed mobile-first gestures, and adapted components like modals and filters to suit web conventions without compromising usability or clarity.
